Sports

Sport is very much part of our curriculum at Dulwich College Shanghai. Engagement in sport not only aids our students’ physical development, improving their coordination and developing their skills in a variety of sports, but also helps them to learn how to be part of a team.

Through sporting competition we encourage leadership and emphasise the importance of sportsmanship. We believe it is important for our students experience and celebrate success and, equally, to learn how to lose a match or tournament with grace. Students from our College compete against others across the Dulwich College International family of schools in the Dulwich Games. In April, we participated in the very first Dulwich Olympiad, a large-scale competition and opportunity for collaboration that will take place every four years. The next Dulwich Olympiad will be hosted by Dulwich College in London in 2019, when students from all Dulwich College International schools will have the opportunity to participate in the founding College’s quadricentennial celebrations.

Students also participate in number of prestigious sporting events with other international schools from across Asia and have the opportunity to travel with their teams to compete. We host a number of sporting competitions through our membership in school associations, including the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) and Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS).

Our talented athletes are encouraged to join team practices during their after-school activities to hone their individual and team skills. Read more about our sports seasons below.

Our Heritage

Dulwich College is one of the UK's oldest independent schools, founded in South London as a boys’ school in 1619.

Our Facilities

The College campus is an expression of our learning philosophy. We offer an educational environment designed to nurture the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of our students.

Our Approach to Learning

Our approach to learning nurtures confidence and intellectual curiosity in our students, preparing them for success in further education and life beyond.

Language Learning in the College

Language learning is an important part of our learning philosophy at Dulwich. We believe that learning a language is essential to understanding the world and to appreciate the subtleties of cultural differences.
